Dr. Stites received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his residency and chief residency in internal medicine at the University of Rochester and fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Anand Parekh is the Bipartisan Policy Center’s chief medical advisor providing clinical and public health expertise across the organization. Prior to joining BPC, he completed a decade of service at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Parekh is a board-certified internal medicine physician, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, an adjunct professor of health management and policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and an adjunct assistant professor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University. His book Prevention First: Policymaking for a Healthier America argues that prevention must be our nation’s top health policy priority.

Bill is Senior Vice President of Pfizer Vaccine Clinical Research and Development, and responsible for global clinical research and development of vaccines to meet licensure and post licensure requirements. He has over 35 years of experience in vaccine development. Bill joined in 1999 as Vice President of Clinical Vaccine Research and Development for Wyeth, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Pfizer Inc. Other prior experience includes: Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Director of the Diagnostic Virology Laboratory at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Linda Goler Blount joined the Black Women’s Health Imperative in 2014. As president and CEO of the only national organization focused on Black women’s emotional, physical and financial health, Linda has overseen more than $20 million invested in Black women and research to prevent chronic disease and HIV, ensure reproductive justice and healthy maternal outcomes and advocate for health promoting policies. Linda, an epidemiologist, edited IndexUS, the first research on Black women’s health based on healthy Black women. Her career includes successful tenures at CDC, the Coca-Cola Company and consulting with health ministries in countries in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.

He is a former member of the United States Senior Executive Service and Associate Commissioner of the Food & Drug Administration. Pitts is a member of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS) Expert Working Group to help advance patient involvement in the development and safe use of medicines. He is the lead author of many professional peer reviewed publications including the Lancet, Therapeutic Innovation and Regulatory Science, and Nature Biotechnology.
